Camp Chatter from Precious

May 2007

Thank you to all of our Camp Clean up helpers. We had 16 people come and help clean Red Arrow, the Art Shack, the Shoshone Unit fire pit area, and take down cubbies in Baptiste. Everyone did a fabulous job and the camp looks great!

Camp starts very soon and there is still time to register. If you need more information check out our brochure here or call 1-800-472-0073.

There will not be another Camp Chatter until September. I look forward to seeing all of you this summer.

Let me know if you have any great camp ideas!!!

Welcome to Camp Chatter!  This month there is a lot of camp planning going on.  I’d like to give a big thank you to those of you who responded to the end of summer camp survey.  We are currently working on putting all of those great ideas together into different camps.

I’d like to also tell you about the 2nd Annual Camp Rummage Sale/Craft Sale on June 2nd & 3rd.  We are adding a craft sale section to our rummage sale and your troop could be a part of it.  Any troop that wants a table to sell crafts can have one!  You also get to keep all of the profits that you make (a $10 donation is requested).  You can also help out in other ways: play games and make crafts with children, be a greeter at the gate, sell food in the kitchen and donate rummage sale items.  If you are interested in helping out with one of these activities please contact me at cdillman@woodgsc.org. Check out the 'save the date' flyer here.

The Camp Sacajawea songbook is now available at the Web site.  Feel free to take a look at the songs and graces to prepare for camp next year.

I’m still looking for helpers to be part of the Camp Sac Construction Crew on November 11th to help with Red Arrow Lodge (The nature shack).  Please see flyer for more information.

Please take a few minutes and complete the Camp Sac Survey and let me know what you think!

August 30, 2006

Welcome to Camp Chatter.  This is a new column that I will be writing in each month.  Please look at this note for updates about camp, new resources, and ways for you to get involved.

First of all I’d like to thank everyone who came to camp this past summer.  Second I’d like to say that even though the summer has ended I am already thinking about next year.  It is important to me that I hear any ideas and suggestions that you may have about summer camp.   Attached to this page you will find an end of summer camp survey.  Please take the time to fill this out and send it to me at cdillman@woodgsc.org by October 1st.  I will be using these ideas in planning sessions for next summer.

Third I’d like to let you know that some updates have been made to this Web site.  You will now be able to look at the Camp Sacajawea Grace Book and the Camp Sacajawea Songbook.  If you find anything new that you feel should be added to either of these just let me know.

Attention all adult volunteers, Teen Staff, Junior Counselors, and next year’s Junior Counselors.  The Camp Sac Construction Crew is looking for your help on November 11th to help with Red Arrow Lodge (The nature shack).  Please see this flyer for more information.

I look forward to hearing from everyone about the great ideas you have!
